Sara's Story

Sara’s Story was the culmination of a series of workshops held at Shirley High School in Croydon, which aimed to educate secondary school pupils about violence against women and girls. During the workshops, one pupil, Sara, shared her experience of being abused as a child by a family friend, someone her parents believed they could trust.

Rather than telling her story through words, Sara chose to express her emotions through music and the powerful language of dance.

Sara’s Story was directed and produced by Giulia Pistoia and edited by Luca Liffers in the summer of 2025. The film premiered at the Garden Cinema in London in December 2025.
